Breakthrough Praise - PRAISE SECURES VICTORY!

Instead of focusing all the time on that situation, on that mountain, START TO PRAISE HIM! God inhabits praise!

READ: Psalm 149:6-9. Here we see the PRAISE, coupled with the declaration of God’s Word, binds the enemy in chains.

The devil’s most common methods of attack are to bring discouragement, negativity, hopelessness, despair into our lives - to paralyse us from within - to get our eyes off God. If that’s what he’s about in your life, then the best way to deal with him is to START PRAISING THE LORD. Get your eyes back on the greatness of God and declare His praises. Sing and shout of His love, and His faithfulness, and His goodness, and His mighty power. And you watch the enemy flee. His power of discouragement - HIS LIES - will be broken! Hallelujah!

Praise secures victory!

Applying the Power

Scripture Of The Day: "The Lord said to Moses, 'How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the signs I have performed among them?'" - Numbers 14:11 (NIV)

In Numbers 14:11, "The Lord said to Moses, 'How long will these people treat me with contempt? Will they never believe me, even after all the miraculous signs I have done among them?'”

In other words, “Children of Israel, how many times have I shown you my power? Why are you acting like this? You’ve been here before.”

On Easter Sunday little children at churches around the country will recite Easter poems about the power of the Resurrection. We will all celebrate our belief that Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose on the third day “with all power in His hands.”

But I wonder how many of us apply the power of the cross to our everyday lives? How many of us allow what we confess to become real in the midst of our circumstances?

How many of us find ourselves facing familiar situations, and like the children of Israel, like me, and even like my sweet little Ryann, we act as if we’ve never faced that situation before?

As we prepare to celebrate the cornerstone of our Faith, let us remember that because of the miraculous power of the cross we are no longer victims to the circumstances we face! We can apply the resurrection power to every situation in our lives because we are united with Christ (Ephesians 2:6) and we already have the victory!

Woman Stuff
Devotional by Vis. V.D. Coleman
No matter how you fight, in the spirit realm it is impossible to fight "lady like"...

The skilled woman can invent beauty over and over again with extraordinary effect. The art of inventing beauty transcends class, intellect, age, profession, denomination, geography-virtually every cultural and economic barriers.

I have always believed that one woman's success can only help another woman's success...

Young women MUST become active for the betterment of themsleves.

They care about the progress the things that women may have started / changed / improved but they take it for granted...

(Most do)

It is very obvious that there are soooo many women just don't know how great they really are. They appear to be full on the outside but empty on the inside. I find that women can be creative in total isolation! I too, use to do my best "stuff" this way too. But it was not due to anything negative, it was just how God gave me the sparks that I needed.

However, I know many women of excellence who do awesome work in ministry and in their secular fields and they dare not even SHARE it with anyone!

Nonetheless, I feel that some may be used to being ignored/overlooked and grown accustomed to the "the art of or lack of positive feedback"...

Let's help one another discover the real woman on the outside and help heal the little girl on the inside!!

Which will enable we as women, can be WHOLE and be sustained in your true charachter in God!

How QUICK Are You To Believe Things That You Are Told?
Devotional by Vis. V.D. Coleman
Don't believe in anything simply because you have heard it...

Don't believe in anything simply because its spoken and rumored by many...

Don't belive in anything simply becauase its found written in what you are currently reading...

Don't believe in anything merely on the authority of who is teaching... speaking it...

Don't believe in traditions "soley" because they have been handed down for many generations...

But AFTER and ONLY after prayer, observation and analysis has taken place then you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it...

Learn to not be swayed so easily... for it speaks VOLUMES about your character!

My Voice, My Vote, My Choice
Devotional by Vis. V.D. Coleman
Am I The Only One?

Are there other people (regardless of skin color) taking a closer look but moreso a STAND in this election. It took a black individual to run for us as a culture to take politics seriously. Be apart of EVERYTHING that pertains to your daily life. Get more involved even more than you are. Make sure that you do something in the coming month of November!! (even if this is the first time people are registering to vote, let alone actually voting on purpose)

GET UP AND OUT... you know without any excuses like:

I dont feel like gettting up
I forgot, time slipped my mind
Its raining .. its too cold
I just got off of work and i dont feel ike it
I cant get a babysitter!! (come on PEOPLE!)
Etc., etc., etc.

Last year I ran for public office and it was a fun, tiresome, great, exciting, humbling, spiritual warfare experience. Although I did not win with electoral votes (I came in third), I still won in my spirit and soul man.. I did something that I always wanted to do and ACTED ON IT. I don’t want to have a "what if... could have list".

However, with the all of the all of a sudden interest in politics that the black community is having I have been worried, disgusted and sad… but I can understand why so many people support OBAMA. However, the MAIN reason why most are is NOT enough. The color of his skin and the pure fact that he has broken into several doors being a black man is great, but I am very shocked to see that the CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY, THE SAINTS are on the wave themselves - riding it... building him a boat… checking the temperature of the water… being like a deacon and making sure that the water is clean, etc., etc., etc.

He openly talks about abortion and changing the laws for gays – lesbians and the list goes ON! Like a bad credit report, we don’t seem to care simply because he is black... Wow!

Nonetheless. Barack Obama as well as his beautiful wife have become two more influential African American people that are awesome!

However, I want to thank EVERYONE for being "one" of the individuals who appreciates the color barriers that were broken BUT not gitty on the rest of the "product" that is being hyped all over the nation... take out the CHRISTIAN GODLY values then YES WE CAN!

But, what is your stand? So therefore I guess that WE CAN’T!

Please people. I understand you feel compelled to support him because he is black and I do agree because as him being a black man in America and making history. I AM PROUD. Trust me I am... BUT AFTER BEING PROUD WHAT IS NEXT.... I am not knockin’ him. I’m just rockin’ the boat and forcing people to think if they are going to get a paddle to help him swim in the direction that he is going in OR will there be a people who will grab his boat and .. or jump in his boat to pull him toward the LIGHT.

So running behind him ... it is like what the BIBLE talks about via being an "unstable man". You can have money... education and respect but still be UNSTABLE.

You are a proud Christian man or woman BUT you just love Barack Obama and you will look past all of the negative things that GOD clearly hates?

I do understand that it is almost 2009 and there are several versions of the “Word" so maybe half the Obama fans are reading something that I don’t know about but the BIBLE still says the same things regardless of what version that you obtain.

Also, it doesn’t matter what political party that you are affiliated with. People who know me also know that I am not a Democrat. But, it doesn’t matter. You vote for the person, the morals, beliefs, values... and the Stand that LINES UP with what you are in agreement with.

Hmmmmm... just had to get that off me because alot of individuals say Vis, you should vote for him because he is black... and that "erks" me because that reminds me of asking someone if they are saved and have received Jesus Christ" into their lives... and they say, “Well my father is a deacon... my mom is a missionary.”

And exactly what does that have to do with anything? The same "deepness" that we portray via ministry can we please carry some of it into the REGULAR world... you can still be Kingdom in the devil's world... trust me it works and you can.... its called "standing out... being a light!"

Being Kingdom Minded on Purpose,
V.D. Coleman

P.S. I didn’t say that McCain was the greatest choice as well, however and whomever YOU desire to be in office just pray for them and that their views, morals, ethics, values line up!!

Reflection in the Mirror
by Vis. V.D. Coleman
To my Sisters in the Lord...

There comes a time in every woman's life when she has to

take a close look at herself. Not at her circumstance, not at what she

did, not how unfair life is, or at who made you do it.

She has to just look at herself in all her glory and imperfection. Have you ever admired a woman who has been through changes in her life? Or have you made up in your mind that she is just messed up. Before you make this mistake, take a closer look. A woman who has endured the most unusual life is someone of wisdom, someone who has been chosen by God to go through things that have made her stronger.

Think of all the great women in the Bible:

Mary Magdalene, Ruth and Naomi, the woman with an issue of blood, and we cannot forget about Esther, to name a few. Mary was a prostitute, a very uneasy woman. But by the time Jesus was done with her, she was His closest follower. Esther was unfortunate in marrying an abusive man, but by the time God was done with her, she had married one of the wealthiest men in the land.

Women are so quick to beat the next one down instead of trying to hold her up. Before you wonder, "What's up with her?" ask yourself, "What's up with me?" That woman could be my mother, sister, aunt, in-law, stepmother, niece, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor, friend, or co-worker, etc. That woman could be ME. Can I get an AMEN?

Women are the carriers of life, not the channels of death. Let's build and encourage each other, as did Ruth and Naomi. Pass this to all the women in your life. Encourage and love, forgive and forget, and trust that the woman that receives this will be touched in some way.

May the peace and love of Christ be upon you!

Guard Your Thoughts
by Vis. V.D. Coleman
Greetings All!

In today's world we are bombarded in every way. Seldom are we allowed a moment to reflect on our own thoughts, let alone God's. It comes in the form of billboards, commercials, movies, so called "spokesmen" or political leaders, radio , tv and any other of a myriad of ways to influence you and divert your attention.

Our era has truly serious spiritual happenings occuring daily, such as slavery in the Darfur, or the extermination of nearly 1/3rd of all pregnancies due to "choice". Such important spiritual issues of our time, are conveniently forgotten, swept away in our thoughts, thanks to Godless chatter about Britney Spears, or OJ Simpson or the "Superbowl". For strange and carnal reasons, such things are promoted as important to you, or as "news" and/or "knowledge".

The Bible speaks of such things:

I Timothy 6:20-21
Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have departed from the faith.

Stay close to God in prayer and in study of his Word. Limit your contact with foolishness and godless chatter of this carnal world as much as possible. Guard what has been entrusted to your care from our Savior Jesus Christ. Distraction from truth is one of the Devil's greatest tools to have you not live your faith to its fullest. Beware of those in this world, detached from Christ, who proclaim themselves as wise.

Abandon Yourself to God
by Vis. V.D. Coleman
What does utterly abandoning yourself to God mean?

The definition of abandon, according to Webster's, is:

1 a : to give up to the control or influence of another person or agent b : to give up with the intent of never again claiming a right or interest in

2 : to withdraw from often in the face of danger or encroachment .

Admittedly, this is a frightening concept. Who really wants to let go completely? When danger looms the most natural response is "fight or flight". In doing either option you're probably thinking about your own self-preservation.

God calls us to total trust and reliance upon Him and His power. It's a constant call. We don't have to wait for danger to release our self-control in favor of God's. If, in fact, you only turn to God when you are afraid or overwhelmed then you're not living a real life of faith. We all know there are no atheists in foxholes.

An ongoing reliance on God's power, guidance and encouragement in each and every day is a worthy goal. Ideally every waking moment, but begin where you can. There are many days when I am continually confronting "letting go". I leave so many claw marks.

Help Me, I Think I'm Falling

I have never bungee jumped, but I imagine there is a sense of abandonment in doing that. Much like skydiving (which I have also never done). I do like excitement, but I also crave security and certainty. To the extent that I will not completely abandon to God do I hold back my growth in faith.

Abandonment makes me fearful. I have thoughts of being defenseless. This is not the idea of abandonment to God. I think giving up our self will to the love and care of God better conveys it. Still, the greatest struggle for us all is the one over who gets to control our lives: God or us?

Real abandonment to God as complete surrender. His comment about why so many of us refuse to do it for the right reasons strikes me to the core. "Our motive for surrender should not be for any personal gain at all. We have become so self-centered that we go to God only for something from Him, and not for God Himself".

I Will If You Will

Our longing for God must travel beyond this idea of transaction; that if I give to God He will give to me. He gives to all of us, both good and bad.

I'm not sure if I will achieve this true surrender for anything more than a few minutes at a time. However, I must strive onward. Like so many of the wonderful mysteries of God's love, it is a gift. Do I choose to accept it? It is so hard to get away from a performance-based mentality.

Abandon yourself to God as best you can. Pray for courage, pray for willingness. Our salvation is deliverance from ourselves into perfect union with God. Be grateful that He took the first step and sent His son. He completely and absolutely gave Himself to us. Now it is our turn.
